It is used throughout the organization to remotely access and control machines from various locations. It is used on PCs as well as iOS devices. LogMeIn Central is also used to check up on the status of machines and file transfer.
  • Remote control
  • Remote restart
  • File transfer
  • Looking over a user’s shoulder to troubleshoot
  • Lower cost plans
  • A better interface from Chromebooks
  • The ability to fully control more types of devices
LogMeIn Central excels at remote control of PCs in real-time as well as background file transfer. It would be nice if you could run a concurrent session as a different user without disturbing the user as an option, although an interactive session where both you and the user see the same thing is very helpful and is supported. It is useful to monitor and control devices that are being controlled and the devices used to control the other device can be at multiple different locations including ability to use iOS device to remotely control a PC such as using an iPhone to control a PC. This is great for on-demand troubleshooting.

I've used LogMeIn Central by GoTo for six years. It was recommended to me by an IT professional. It's reliability was a life saver during the pandemic. In our fast paced world it's no longer practical to travel to clients this is a reliable fix for that. It's also good if you provide software support or other troubleshooting.
  • Web based client easy to use
  • Extremely reliable
  • Great support
  • Easy setup
  • Needs a little tweaking to install on a Windows 11 computer
  • Graphics on LogMeIn Central by GoTo client could be clearer
  • Can be frustrating on an unstable connection
Perfect solution when you need 24 hour access to a networked desktop. Also works well to provide support using screen sharing. It has a file transfer feature that works quite well. Two factor authentication provides added security. An invaluable tool in our remote access business world. A time saving superstar!

I have several companies that I have installed LogMeIn Central by GoTo that we use to remotely manage all company computers in one interface. We can look at cpu usage, installed software etc when troubleshooting end users. It is a all in one platform to manage small to large enterprise organizations.
  • Organize computer into groups
  • Remote management and inventory
  • Trouble shooting issues
  • send and receive files
  • Cost
  • speed
  • screen resolution sometimes is an issue especially with smaller notebook screen size
  • Audio is sometimes and issue where the audio is not in sync.
This platform is great on troubleshooting and doing tech support for remote users. The full tool set allows me to pull and send files to the remote computer/server. I can use shortcut keystrokes to speed out routing short keys on Windows computers. It is really hard to think of a circumstance where LogMeIn Central by GoTo is less appropriate. I can only think of an issue if the remote computer has malware and or issue with internet connectivity and trying to log in becomes ineffective.

We use LogMeIn Central for consultants and users outside our domain to be able to access a virtual machine on the domain. Some users use it for WorkFromHome, while others use it for support purposes. We don't want personal computers on our domain or any computer/device that isn't on our domain that we can manage to log into our network via VPN. This was an issue with some of our contracts as organizations utilizing our services wanted to be sure that our network was secure. LogMeIn Central provides that work-around we need to keep our network secure while still being able to continue business as usual.
  • Access to Virtual Machines inside network
  • Ability to turn the PC back on
  • Black out screen on PC you're remoting into for privacy
  • Gives me, as the admin, the ability to see who is logged in and I am able to remotely connect to machines as needed for support
  • Audio issues for remote pc to your pc on central (works on pro)
  • I've had some issues with remoting from PC to Mac in the past
  • Would like to see an invisible connection to a PC within LMI as an admin to monitor outside contractors usage.
Well suited for allowing outside/external users to connect to domain/network VMS or PCs to keep your network secure and manageable. If you're only using it for remote control or support, there are other apps better designed just for that. Easy to access and manage all PCs, VMS on LMI and great visibility.

Central is the software we use to provide remote support to our company's internal users. Before using Central, remote access was slow and delayed which caused some problems during the service, among them, when Windows requested Administrator access the resolver agent could not enter his credentials. With Central this was solved, making the service much easier, besides all the service being audited
  • Fast remote access, no delay and no problem with computers with two or more screens
  • You can draw on the user's screen, lock the keyboard and mouse, and all of it is software that has logs for auditing
  • Central, also provides silent installation and helps with scripting for GPO enforcement which is a plus when working with multiple users
  • Lists all the computers in your domain that have the tool installed, just click on the desired computer to connect
  • Can remotely access the computer without the user noticing (hidden)
  • It could pull up the user's login in addition to the hostname
  • Employee shortcuts like "win+r", "Ctrl+shitf+dell", on the computer that is connected remotely. This is needed
  • Being able to minimize the bar in the top corner of the screen that is left when you are connected to a remote computer
Recommended scenario: Medium-sized companies between 1000 employees, when you want to access remote computers in your domain quickly, Central is certainly a recommended tool.

Not recommended scenario: Companies that have computers outside their domain, especially when you provide support for other companies or on personal computers, in that case Rescue is recommended.

We primarily use Central to remote into workstations / laptops on our network. It does an amazing job at this and is unmatched by any other product that performs a similar task. We added the patch management and security modules and were disappointed in those offerings. The security module is based on bitdefender, which is top tier AV module. However, the Central offering of this product is lacking many of the things that make bitdefender an amazing security product. Scaled down for Central, it is subpar in my opinion. The patch manager is a little less that average and does a fair job. But if you are looking for a more complete system that scans the entire system for vulnerabilities, then you should search for a better solution. The Central basic offering is where we are going to return our licensing to since that is where Central excels and has the most value. I don't really consider Central a fully developed remote monitoring software offering.
  • Remote access to systems
  • transfer files between host and client
  • remote access to system resources
  • remote shutdown and restart
  • patch management
  • security / av
  • reporting and monitoring
Well suited for connecting to computers and laptops for helpdesk support. Can turn off remote desktop for servers enabling a more secure network. It does well at windows updates if you get the patch management module but don't expect much more.

If you are looking for a helpdesk support tool that will manage windows patches and an ok security solution, then this would be for you.

We typically use central to remote into agents' computers to assist them with setup during training or to have engineers assist us with issues we don't understand. Central is utilized for us to more easily work together without using screen share in a program like Zoom where we can't take control of our agent's desktop.
  • Easily connects
  • Assists with installation and training remotely
  • Allows us to troubleshoot issues that are out of our scope of expertise
  • Is easy to navigate
  • Messy display on main screen
  • Stealth mode is a little unnerving with privacy (which I understand is necessary for opsec)
  • A bit pricey for smaller companies
This is well suited for our IT to be able to solve problems quickly and easily for employees who are less tech-savvy. If you don't use a lot of sensitive software or have complicated issues this may not be for you. While I can see benefits in-house, I think this is better suited in remote situations.

We have used LogMeIn Central [for] 6 years. We used it across our whole corporation. Our primary goal is to support users remotely. It is a big challenge when you are supporting users who are in remote offices or working from home. We decided to look into solutions [when] we came across LogMeIn Central, [they] addressed our remote support issue.
  • Remote screen sharing and mouse control
  • Device management
  • Application install
  • Remote screen and mouse performance
  • Connectivity issues
  • LogMeIn client install could be better
It's [the] best tool if you want to support users remotely or [manage] remote servers. This tool is most helpful when you are dealing with users who [are] not computer savvy. You can simply take control and take care of the issue. The performance is sometimes slow. If you need to install the client software on [a] user's computer then it's more complicated.

LogMeIn Central has always been an essential tool used by our organization over the last 10+ years mainly to enable remote users to connect to their office computers instead of VPN where the company computer management is much easier and safer to perform. Having remote users utilize their office computers for their daily tasks makes it easier to perform upgrades, updates, and security management on their office machines only.
It also provides a very fast, secure, and easy solution to perform remote support.
In addition, it is also very utilized to provide individual educational training while users can watch at the same time on their screen.
  • Enable users to remote connect to their office computers
  • Provides an fast and easy remote support solution
  • We can provide remote trainings individually
  • Gives control to what each user can access
  • Fast and easy to remote transfer files
  • Full access to remote machine to perform reboot
  • Multi monitor support
  • High security
  • Easy deployment and computers management
  • Remote access to support computers via phone and tablets
  • It would be interesting to have two users to connect at the same machine remotely
  • Speed lags tremendously on MAC computers
LogMeIn Central is well suited for companies to have remote users to connect to office computers, where employees require a ERP software that is constantly updated and maintenance. It is faster and easier to perform company ERP maintenance on local machines instead of remote computers. As well as to maintain local computers updates instead of remote machines.
We strongly consider this method safer then VPN where we do not always have full control on the remote machines.
LogMeIn Central could be considered less appropriate when remote users are 100% fully out of the office as it does require local maintenance.

I use LogMeIn Central on my home computer to work remotely. I am the only staff person who is using this program. The other staff used Dropbox, but they can't access all of their information like I can with LogMeIn. This program makes it like I am sitting in front of my work computer. It enables me to access my C drive, where I store confidential information that I do not want other people to have access to.
  • It truly makes it like you are sitting in front of your work computer
  • It allows you to have access to all of your programs, printers, etc.
  • It enables me to access my payroll information that I have stored on my C drive
  • They could improve the function to reconnect when you time out. I have to totally quit the program and log back in.
  • They could improve the switching between screens. I would like to have the screens side by side instead to using the monitor button on the top to switch.
  • They could make it more difficult to accidentally enter the administrator's screen, which I have done multiple times.
Without LogMeIn, it would be much more difficult for me to work remotely. I need to be able to access my C drive and this program allows me to do that. Other programs give you access to your documents, but LogMeIn makes it like I am sitting in front of my work computer. I can do everything from home now that previously I had to be physically in the office to do.

LogMeIn Central is my go to remote management tool. This lightweight tool is one of the most stable and dependable remote management tools in my arsenal. As my primary remote tool, I find the system easy and intuitive to use, very secure and a high level of support is available in the rare instances I need it.
  • LogMeIn provides stable remote access
  • LogMeIn takes security very seriously. Their client connects via secure channels and they offer multifactor authentication—a must in today's threat landscape.
  • A recent account update has brought many of the standard Pro features to LogMeIn Central—like file sharing, screen sharing, remote printing and the like.
  • Price. I mentioned the new account features, well those were forced, and the price of the system effectively doubled. More warning and choice would have been appreciated.
  • They should look more at a client-less way to provide the remote access.
  • The client should auto-update without intervention.
LogMeIn Central is a great tool for an IT Professional who manages multiple clients under a single portal. As value-added service, this can easily be touted as a must-have for clients, and with the addition of the pro features coupled with individual user access (to specific devices) enables me to provide a top-notch remote experience to my users right down to their individual desktops—all managed from one central portal. Sorry to complain about the pricing again, but that price increase will force a lot of smaller firms out of the LogMeIn game. Double the price will likely mean half the clients. Not a good business plan when there are less expensive alternatives out there!

  • Remote access.

  • Software updates (Patching).
LogMeIn remote is excellent. Setup for end users can be cumbersome as the end user must accept an invite, but works ok.
Patching in LogMeIn Central was a welcome addition but it falls short. Reports in the LogMeIn console do not always sync up with the actual end point, which makes us question if the updates are getting done.

LogMeIn Central is used by staff in our company, and I also use it to remotely support our clients outside of the company with their IT issues.
  • In my opinion, the quality of the screen display with LogMeIn is superior, particularly in CAD and Engineering applications.
  • The LogMeIn company is approachable.
  • Improvements could be made to the discrepancy that exists with handling Passwords in the LogMeIn Client, and when accessing remote systems through a browser. Currently, these are handled differently. The password is most definitely correct, but with one way it will work, but in the other, it will be wrong, and the result is that you are locked out of access to the remote until the system times out. I have historically always used a cut and paste to save complex passwords when accessing remote sites from a Browser, and this has been reliable in the past. Now that I am also using the LogMeIn Client on some systems, in my experience, it is that the trailing white space at the end of the password is not being removed. Remembering complex and long passwords without using a Cut and Paste is impossible.
  • The models for the marketing and pricing of the LogMeIn PRO, Central and Ignition products could be more integrated. In my case, supporting remote clients on a one-off basis would be considerably improved if I had access to Ignition as a part of the package instead of having to talk the client through the installation to then be able to access their system for a one-off use. Also, we would not need to be subscribing to as many seats in Central as we now do.

We use LogMeIn Central to help provide IT technical support all employees, local and remote.
  • Remote control and screen sharing.
  • Virus Monitoring.
  • File system access.
  • Service management.
  • More granular licensing options to allow for fewer users but more functionality for the same cost. We only use half of the license count but could really use the features on the next licensing level.
LogMeIn Central is a very powerful tool for remote support and end-user access to their office systems while away from their desk. It also allows us to monitor local virus status and system services. We find the solution works very well in almost every network/internet speed scenario.

I use LogMeIn almost every day. We have 6 restaurants, plus our tortilla factory. It helps me help my employees. I can log on to their computers and see issues they are having with On-Orientations, Excel spreadsheets, changing passwords, and many other issues. I also use it to log into certain systems to reprint reports. It also allows me and my IT department to run important updates.
I love the documents feature. If I just need to update a document, I can access their files without ever "logging on" to their computer. This is a quicker way to update things but helps if the computer is in use by a manager.
  • Ease of access.
  • Secure, I get an email if someone accesses it with the wrong password.
  • I love the document transfer option.
  • There is a slight delay, but that is expected or could be our system.
  • Cost. I think I would prefer it monthly instead of yearly.
  • The header at the top of the screen bothers me b/c it is in the way when logged into a different computer. Easily movable, but I hate it.
Very helpful if you have multiple locations of any business or many computers in one place.

  • High availability and accessibility both via computer and mobile device.
  • The use of dual authentication allows me to sleep soundly at night knowing that the tool is secure.
  • The ability to allow delegates to access the account.

LogMeIn Central is being used by my IT/Tech department to increase accuracies, efficiencies, and securities in all of our other departments at the company.
  • Versatility
  • Accuracy
  • Ease of Use
  • Innovative
  • Reliable
  • 3rd party antivirus management
  • Their new LogMeIn Antivirus Security Suite. It's off to a good start but needs to be proven in the industry before pushed to the company and customer machines in real-time
  • Mac LogMeIn Central functions are lacking for "behind the scenes" items that you can do. You can probably do them with terminal commands but why not setup some GUI templates that are easier to use?
  • LogMeIn needs a stronger MDM presence for both Windows and Mac devices
LogMeIn Central works great in a corporate environment whether it's an enterprise or small business. Cloud is the future. LogMeIn Central being cloud-based allows ease of use for remote techs to dial in and troubleshoot end user issues or prevent issues.

LogMeIn is great for small consumer use, but the price point is what makes it less appropriate for a consumer user that wants these functions for maybe 1-2 home computers.

I use LogMeIn Central to work with remote computers when I receive a request for service. LogMeIn Central is currently used only in our department but it is extremely useful as it allows me to fix problems quickly and easily without ever leaving my office. It also provides me with stats from client computers that help me keep them in good health and also to fix problems that are happening before they're even reported by the clients.
  • LogMeIn Central excels at accessing computers remotely. I can blank the remote screen for privacy which is useful when you have to access sensitive data and you don't want the person on the other end to see it.
  • LogMeIn Central with remote desktop also allows you to lock the keyboard and mouse to prevent the remote user from accidentally clicking on things while I work with their computer. I use this feature a lot.
  • LogMeIn Central also has this neat feature to access a files on a remote computer without ever using remote desktop. You can send large files to the remote computer or retrieve them without stopping the remote user from getting their work done.
  • If there's a password set up on a client computer, when you're installing LogMeIn for accessing it remotely, it will take the user's username and password. So when you try to access it remotely, you'll have to provide those. If you want to set up your own, you'll have to remove the user's password before install. I wish this was optional during install.
LogMeIn Central is well suited for situations in which the remote computer that you are trying to access is still connected to the internet. Most of the problems that my clients experience are solvable through remote desktop; from software installation to scheduling scans, backups, and updates. Unless the computer is completely offline, then LogMeIn Central will only notify you, at which point you can proceed with further trouble shooting.

We use LogMeIn Central to provide remote support on PCs that we manage. Unattended remote access allows us to fix things after hours. The automation of PC checks and Antivirus is a big plus for us.
  • Remote access works flawlessly
  • Remote printing and multiple monitor support are very helpful
  • PC status reports are very helpful in heading off problems
  • The ability to Wake On Lan needs improvement
  • Flexibility in pricing is problematic unless you directly charge clients to cover the cost
If you support remote computers LogMeIn Central will streamline your efforts. If you have clients that use remote access packages, you can add access for them via Central and recoup money that you are spending on it. Being able to bundle remote monitoring, remote updates, remote support and antivirus is a great package for managing other people's PC.

If you need to support phones and tablets or do ad-hoc support the LMI Central lacks in these areas and you would need to additionally purchase their Rescue product.

I am the primary user, accessing multiple PCs daily across our 8 locations to help troubleshoot or resolve an issue. I also frequently use it from home when I am working at night so I can have access to the machines without interfering with the branch operations. I have granted user access to approx 8-10 employees who access their own machine when off site, plus another 2 people who have access to all PCs for assistance when I am not available.
  • LogMeIn excels at the remote desktop portion, especially when using LogMeIn Client for immediate access without a browser.
  • File transfer has been an incredible time saver, which is something I thought I would never even use.
  • The primary web interface has a ton of ways to view the status of any of my machines, although that can get complicated.
  • It should be easier to initiate a remote reboot. It can't be done from LogMeIn Client, you have to open the website, login to the selected PC and go through a menu tree to get to advanced options and reboot preferences. Often it has been easier to just reboot the thing when I am logged in remotely and let the remote session lock up than to go through the rest of it.
  • Antivirus should be more automated. I have installed to machines multiple times only to log in later and learn that the product wouldn't update without local (or remote) interaction, could not just be deployed, installed, updated and run all from the home screen.
  • Should simplify the wake on lan functionality to interface with Windows without booting to BIOS locally.
LogMeIn works very well in my daily operation. I don't know any specifics but they are obviously one of the oldest and best recognized players in this market. Part of the reason for that is simply because it works exceptionally well, and it works consistently. If I was not a long term user I would have to start by determining how often I was going to use it. This product is EXPENSIVE. It's a great product, but make sure you're going to use it enough to justify the cost.

They are never in the office, so when they have an IT related issue we need to be able to see their machine to diagnose and repair any issue they may be having. Using Central gives us easy access to the users machines where we can take control and fix the issue quickly for them. We also use Central in pushing out new software and updates of current software. We use Central to monitor virus protection and Windows updates. We did trials of 5 different brands of software that is similar and none matched up with LogMeIn. We have used the software for 2 years now and with the advancments that are coming I see no reason to even look at any other options. LogMeIn Central is our go to software for our IT professionals.
  • Remote access to machines to allow technicians to fix issues.
  • Push out Windows updates to machines in need of updates.
  • Reporting on user activity and computer activity.
  • Set up alerts for any issues related to machines such as power outages on servers.
  • Deployment options that tie directly to Active Directory to allow easier roll outs.
  • AV protection from LogMeIn. (I know it is coming)
  • Easier client updates for LMI software installed. No user interaction.
Remote users sometimes need software installed on their machine. They are not local admins so we need to connect to the machine and complete the download and installs for them.
Being able to troubleshoot an issue with user interaction while we are watching the screen allows us to teach proper techniques while we are repairing the machine.
